📝 Upcoming: Turner County Vision Workshop – July 1 at 10 AM

We’re keeping the momentum going.

On Tuesday, July 1 at 10:00 AM, Turner County will host its next Comprehensive Plan Vision Workshop — a critical step in shaping how we grow, invest, and strengthen our communities over the next five years.

📍 Location: Turner County Ag Center
Address: 222 Rockhouse Road, Ashburn, GA 31714
🍽 Lunch will be served after the session

This meeting will focus on defining a shared community vision and launching our S.W.O.T. analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). These two steps are foundational in developing clear goals and funding strategies for Turner County’s future.

We’ll also be joined by key voices from our regional and federal partners:

  • Alexandra Arzayus – SGRC Comprehensive Plan Planner (Writer of the plan)
  • Rachel Strom – SGRC GIS Director
  • Jared Hooper & Lance Young – USDA (Tifton office)

These experts will guide us through the visioning process and share opportunities for federal and state-level grant funding — especially in areas like rural development, broadband, and infrastructure.

🗣 Every Voice Matters — Help Us Shape the Plan

This isn’t just another meeting. It’s a chance to speak into the future of Turner County — and we need participation from every city, every district, every generation.

If you’ve ever asked why things don’t change or why certain areas don’t get attention — this is your chance to be part of the solution. Our comprehensive plan helps determine what priorities get funded and how state agencies view our readiness for investment.

I invited over 100 community leaders and contacts to the last session — and while I’m thankful for the 14 who showed up, I’m hoping to see even more people around the table this time.

📋 Take the Turner County Vision Survey

We’ve also launched a brief community survey to collect public input. Your answers will help guide this plan — from downtown development to farmland protection to youth opportunities.

📝 Take the Survey Here: https://forms.office.com/r/SzAQXyQNyK

Please take 5 minutes to complete it — and share it with your friends, coworkers, church groups, and local businesses. The more responses we get, the stronger and more inclusive our plan becomes.

This plan is a living, working document — not something that sits on a shelf. Done right, it becomes a blueprint for how Turner County grows, invests, and leads over the next decade.

So mark your calendar, bring your thoughts, and let’s keep moving Turner County forward — together.

See you July 1 at 10 AM.
