Sec. 2-169Sinking fund—Establishment
Plain English: what this chapter covers
Chapter 2 covers how city government runs: when the council meets and how residents can speak, the ethics code and how to file a complaint, rules for city employees (including drug testing and the city minimum wage), budgeting and purchasing limits, city credit cards, the Community Relations Commission, and how the city protects utility customers' personal information.
All taxes collected for the payment of principal and interest on city general obligation bonds shall be kept by the city treasurer as a separate fund to be known as the "sinking fund." Under no circumstances shall such fund be paid out by the city treasurer for any other purpose than for the payment of the interest and principal on the bonds for which it was collected or for the purpose of investment as provided by law and city .
This is a plain-English guide, not legal advice. The official code is on Municode and at City Hall. Our copy is from April 30, 2026.
