Sec. 6-139Noise control
Plain English: what this chapter covers
This is the rulebook for selling, serving and drinking alcohol in Ashburn. It covers who can get a beer, wine or liquor license and how the city council grants, renews, suspends or takes one away; what hours stores and bars can sell; rules for events, BYOB ('brown bagging') and catering; the city's alcohol excise taxes; and a ban on drinking or open containers on city streets and property.
The holder of any alcoholic beverage license shall not allow or permit any customer, patron or other person upon the licensed premises to make, continue or cause to be made any noise that can be heard beyond the property boundary of the licensed premises that unreasonably or unnecessarily annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others in the city. Moreover, the holder of any alcoholic beverage license shall comply with the noise control provisions of chapter 38 [environment] of this Code.
