APPENDIX A ZONING

Newest change 2018

Needs a look

A 30-year-old zoning code may not fit today's housing, business and technology needs, or current state law. See the fix

Without rules, residents and staff have to guess, and under Sec. 3-13 an unlisted use is treated as prohibited. See the fix

Editor's note— Printed in this appendix are the city's zoning rules and regulations, as adopted by the city council on February 1, 1996. Amendments to the are indicated by parenthetical following amended provisions. The absence of a history note indicates that the provision remains unchanged from the original ordinance. Obvious misspellings and punctuation errors have been corrected without notation. For stylistic purposes, a uniform system of headings, catchlines, capitalization, citation to state statutes, and expression of numbers in text has been used to conform to the Code of Ordinances. Additions made for clarity are indicated by brackets.

Cross reference— Any zoning saved from repeal, § 1-11(10); buildings and building regulations, ch. 18; environment, ch. 38; floods, ch. 46; historical preservation, ch. 54; planning, ch. 66; streets, sidewalks and other public places, ch. 74.
