Plain English: what this chapter covers
This chapter covers two kinds of businesses. Article II regulates adult entertainment businesses (strip clubs, adult bookstores and theaters, and similar) — where they can locate, their hours, permits for owners and workers, and a ban on alcohol. Article III sets licensing and operating rules for pool rooms, game rooms, billiard halls and internet cafes, including hours, rules for minors, and a ban on gambling.
Occupation tax certificates for adult entertainment establishments may be renewed on a calendar year basis provided that the applicants continue to meet the requirements set out in this chapter. The renewal fee for the adult entertainment establishments permits shall be established by resolution of the city council. Renewal applications shall be due by January 1 of the year for which such permit is requested.
