Sec. 22-70Applicability

Needs a look

COAM locations are a common resident concern; the city's rules should match the state licensing system actually in use. See the fix

Plain English: what this chapter covers

This is the chapter for anyone running a business in town: the yearly occupation tax (the city's business license), plus special rules for pawn shops, phone companies, arcades and coin-operated machines, fireworks stands, food trucks, and permits for special events on city property like festivals, parades and big cookouts in the park. Several parts are fairly recent (2015-2025), but some, like the pawnshop rules, are older and still describe paper record books.

(a) The rules set forth in this article shall govern the operation of all establishments offering the use and playing of one or more coin-operated amusement machines to the public in the City of Ashburn, Georgia.

(b) The term "coin-operated amusement machine" as used herein shall have the same meaning and definition as the term "bona-fide coin-operated amusement machine" contained in § 48-17-2.

(c) As used in this article, the term "establishment" shall mean any establishment of business, any portion of whose revenue is from coin-operated amusement machines as defined in this article.
