Sec. 50-33Establishment of wellhead protection zone
Needs a look
If the city's wells have changed, residents near a newer well may not know the restrictions apply to them. See the fix
Plain English: what this chapter covers
This chapter does two things. It adopts the state health rules for restaurants, motels, septic systems, drinking water and public pools by reference. It also sets up a 1,500-foot protection zone around each city water well, where things that could pollute the water, like septic tanks, fuel tanks and landfills, aren't allowed.
There is established a use district to be known as a wellhead protection zone, identified and described as all the area within a circle the center of which is the center of any city water supply wellhead and the radius of which is 1,500 feet.
