Sec. 78-162Administrative provisions

Last changed 2011
Plain English: what this chapter covers

This chapter covers city property taxes: billing, due dates, interest, penalties, and what happens if they go unpaid, up to a tax sale. It also covers taxes on insurers, banks and hotel rooms, the monthly E-911 charge, and the 2022 Blighted Property Ordinance, which raises taxes on officially blighted, non-owner-occupied property and gives a tax break once it's fixed.

The Clerk of the City of Ashburn is hereby directed to file with the state revenue commissioner a certified copy of this [from which this article was derived] and amendments thereto in accordance with § 46-5-134.2(j)(1), together with the Information Sheet required to be filed with the commissioner, by December 31, 2011.
